Sacai, founded in 1999 by Chitose Abe in Tokyo, has redefined the concept of hybridization in contemporary fashion. Abe, a former collaborator of Rei Kawakubo at Comme des Garçons, developed a unique design language built on the juxtaposition of seemingly opposing elements: sportswear and tailoring, femininity and masculinity, structure and fluidity.
